Here is my son pictured with the RDS nosecone. I vacillated over hand laid vs. bought, and due to the time limitations, I  bought it from their website: www.rocketdynesys.com

Ok, the RDS nose cone is 9.25" and my "Quik Tubes" are 9.5". This is the solution that made the most sense. I cut 16 lines with a circular saw removing enough material from the tube that it fit flush with the nose cone. Additional fiberglass will be applied over the top with screws to keep everything taught.

Here is the technique for cutting the slots in the body tube so it can slid over the fins. Connect a plumb-bob with a level and mark the lines -- It worked perfectly.

Here is the finished bottom section. I poured a ton of West Systems Epoxy into the body tube, slid it over the fin-canister, and screwed in about 32 screws for strength.
